On the evening of 26 April, Beijing and the International Olympic Committee announced the Beijing 2008 Olympic torch. It is learned that the Beijing Olympic torch is "XiangYun".

It is said that the creative inspiration of Torch come from the idea of "harmonious symbiosis",the shape of Torch come from the traditional paper scrolls. it is 72 centimeter, 985 grams, and it is suitable for all torch bearer to use, and also for media to screen.

"XiangYun" reflects the "Green Olympics" concept. "XiangYun" makes use of propane fuel, such fuels have an advantage -- the major components of carbon and hydrogen combustion only carbon dioxide and water, no other substances, no pollution to the environment. In addition, the shape of the torch materials are also recyclable, environmentally friendly materials.
